The Westgate Toastmasters Club is located in Port aux Basques. The club received its charter in March, 1970 and is the second oldest club still active in the province. The club has two active charter members, Lloyd Mushrow, ATM and Don Crew, ATM. The Port aux Basques club had one member who had attained the ATM Bronze certification, Rev. Dave Plumber. Dave, who achieved his ATM prior to moving to Newfoundland, has since moved to Meadows.
